This year has undoubtably been a strange one and, for the hospitality sector, it’s become apparent that businesses need to adapt, or risk the consequences. Goupie has responded in a few different ways, but Goupie Room Service is by far the most innovative.
‘We could see early on that it was imperative that we had a delivery option available to our customers’ said Grace Simpson, co-owner of Goupie. ‘We have set up a Deliveroo account, but we didn’t really feel like this went far enough to mirror the experience our customers got when they visited the Chocolate House’.
Enter Goupie Room Service! Customers can pre-order a variety of carefully collated trays, select their drink preference, and receive a delivery slot based on their postcode. The trays will then be delivered to their door in the designated slot complete with cutlery, and a quality Goupie Chocolate House breakfast.
‘Sadly, we’ve only got limited resources available to us, and so can currently only deliver in the immediate Tunbridge Wells area’ continued Grace. ‘That’s why we’ve also offered a collection option. We’re trying to generate as much atmosphere as possible, to give customers a little taste of normality.’
Customers looking to collect can order in the same way as those looking for delivery, but at checkout are able to select a collection date instead. Trays are made up in the morning so that they are available for collection from opening. Hot drinks are made on arrival of the customer to allow as much flexibility as possible.
To see whether you’re eligible for delivery, you can use our nifty postcode checker at www.goupiechocolate.com/cafe where you can also order your trays!
The Goupie Chocolate House is currently open Friday-Sunday 9:30-17:00 with plans to reopen fully from the 6th July. We are currently operating a one-way system with a maximum of 2 people in store at a time and sanitiser available on the door. All products in the Goupie Chocolate House are vegan friendly, and hot drinks are made with oat milk as standard.
