Green Hop 2020

October sees Northdown producing their annual beer to celebrate the very special Kent 'Green Hop' Beer festival. All breweries must follow the rules that every Kent Green Hop beer must be brewed in Kent, & flavoured with only fresh, undried Kent hops and used to brew the beer within 12 hours of picking. It's a great chance to taste the ultimate in seasonal beer with over 30 of Kent's finest brewers taking part. Northdown will be producing a limited amount for the festival in October so keep your eyes peeled for that launch on their instagram and website.

Recycling at Northdown

Keeping up their aim to recycle as much as they can Northdown have been donating their 'spent' & used barley to a Kent company who are turning it into Bio Fuel, their old hop bags are being cleverly crafted into sturdy upcycled beach/tote bags and Wind Breaks and the used Key Kegs repurposed by Bill Bremner into PPE masks to support the current situation. Keeping your distance .....

The 'Northdown Tap Room Saloon & shop, has been upgraded, allowing for social distanced drinking. The Brewery is open every Saturday between 1 & 4pm, at their brewery just site behind Hornby by Westwood Cross. You are welcome to come and enjoy a socially distanced brew in the new 'Tap Room Saloon' or if you want to buy some of their award winning beer to take home, now available in cans and bottles or bring your own vessels to fill.

Charity Beer

Northdown's limited edition, 'All Together' beer which was a collaboration with their friends at Wantsum Brewery and with support from local suppliers has raised over £1000 for Hospitality Action, a UK charity who support the people and businesses affected by the Pandemic. Northdown said 'we are proud to have been the only breweries in Kent to have taken part in this important International campaign' and will look to do similar projects in the future.

As well as the charity All Together beer Northdown have been working with other people on beer collaborations including GB Pizza who have taken the Merry Margate and branded as 'Pizza Beer' the perfect beer to go with your GB Pizza.... only available at Margate GB for a very limited time only...
