Stefano Cuomo, Macknade CEO explained, ‘The last 12 months have absolutely underlined the importance of community and how quality food & drink plays a pivotal role in bringing people together. As more and more people have come to value the Macknade experience, we now have an incredible opportunity to make sure our way of thinking is, to steal a phrase, the new normal!’

Despite the uncertainty of the past year, Macknade has continued to grow at pace with the support of their community, all the while focusing on the very best food and drink.

The development of Macknade’s bustling Food Village in Faversham, giving space to fellow operators wishing to deliver & grow their own street food businesses, was swiftly followed by the expansion of their Ashford store, doubling in size to give the town its very own food hall. The most recent addition of subscriptions also cements Macknade’s position as a national player, allowing customers across the UK to access their experts’ recommendations at the tap of a button.

Macknade’s ambitions don’t stop there and further locations are firmly in their sights. The team are forging ahead with plans to create many more spaces for communities to come together over a shared love of food & drink.

To drive this next phase of growth, the senior management team has been developing behind the scenes, with the key appointment of Shane Godwin as Managing Director to lead the day-to-day operations.

With Shane Godwin stepping into the role of MD, Stefano Cuomo, the sixth generation of the family to lead the business at Macknade, will transition into the role of CEO, focusing on the growth of the Macknade brand and furthering the mission to create pragmatic spaces that forge & serve communities, supporting shifts in supply chain and consumption, that in turn support the environment and society.

Shane Godwin, Macknade’s Managing Director said: ‘Having been involved in the business now for almost four years, I have witnessed Macknade’s evolution and I am incredibly proud to be part of such an innovative & dynamic business. I’m honoured that Stefano and his family have placed their trust in me to lead our awesome team, as we continue to grow and enrich new communities. We have great plans for the future, and I look forward to working with the Macknade team for many years to come.’
